Week 33

Hello!!! Man…the cold definitely came in. Down to -18 at night this last weekend, but the wind chill is like -30/-40 degrees so…cold. Woo! It’s good though! We are having fun with it. We’ve had a pretty mild winter here so we gotta have come extreme times to spice it up. Yesterday, the high was 0 degress…We only had the first hour of church because have of the church buildings heat/water was not working. They’ll hopefully have those fixed soon! So, if my California peeps would like to send some warm weather this way, that would be cool πŸ™‚ It’ll be back up to 30-40 degrees this week, so that’s warm! πŸ™‚ I love the frosty landscapes out here…so pretty. I wish i could take pictures with my eyes!!! Haha…one day that’ll probably be a real thing.

So yeah. Anyway, pretty good week! Tyesha is doing great…she’s planning to get baptized March 5th…we had this awesome lesson with her about prayer and reading scriptures. Her mom grounded her from coming to church activities and church meetings, but she said she prayed a lot within an hour while she read the BOM and did personal progress (a Young Woman’s booklet, here’s the link> https://www.lds.org/young-women/personal-progress?cid=YS-M-personalprogress&lang=eng ) and her mom came in and had a soften heart to allow her to go to the church activities/meetings. The power of prayer and reading scriptures is amazing!

Sorry, I’ll need to end this e-mail early…the water pipe in the church building just broke and the kitchen is flooding…they’re goingto shut down the electricity…#winterprobs #coldprobs

I’ll finish the rest of this e-mail later today or tomorrow!! Until then!

Sister Pange

….please hold.

I’m back! WOO! So yeah, they fixing the pipes n’stuff. We are going to have District meeting in like 30 minutes so here we go!

Alieanna is doing great!! She will be gone this next week to go tour some colleges in some neighboring states…I’m gonna miss her! But she’ll be back soon! Sister Utera is awesome! She came to church with her fiance this last Sunday..the first time she came in over a year! It’s been amazing to see the process that she’s gone through of quitting smoking and starting to get more active in the gospel. So awesome. And she’s planning her long awaited marriage this upcoming September! We’re so happy and excited for her. We are meeting with Mark again! Not at the park..but at his house! The Aguirre family is great…we had a lesson where Sister Gamboa (our Spanish translator) wasn’t there, so it was kind of rough to communicate, but the Spirit was there for sure. Low-key wish I knew how to speak Spanish…and like 10 other languages…maybe one day. Haha, anyway we saw Nate the great! He has a lot of questions and things he wants to get resolved in the moment he asks them, but as we all know, great answers to great questions take time, effort, and experience. And that’s how a lot of great things in life work, especially with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Line upon line”. Prince is good…it’s always an adventure when we go to his house…he’s so funny. Kevin is doing great…he’s loving the Book of Mormon and has felt that he has gotten closer to Christ through it. We got a referral from church headquarters and we met him last night! We delivered his free Book of Mormon…his name is Mario, but he looks nothing like his name and his voice when we talked to him on the phone haha…but he was awesome! He said that he’s been researching a lot about the different religions and is really interested in Mormonism. He said that he read through the Bible and his faith was renewed…so cool!! He will definitely love the Book of Mormon…we have a good feeling about it. Hopefully we’ll be able to meet with him soon and talk more!

Speaking of faith, the chapter of this week that just has been popping up over and over again as we met with people and in studying is Alma 32. We even talked about it in our Zone Training Meeting…it’s such an amazing chapter. I love it. It talks about how “…faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true”
and how we can know if something if good or true. Open up your scriptures and read it again or here’s the link if you want to read it> https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32?lang=eng
It is one of the best chapters ever. So so amazing. You’ll for sure not regret it!

So there’s a jist of what happened. We of course did some volunteer work at the Presb Home, Library, and Women’s Shelter. I love the people we get to meet at each of those places! They are so wonderful. I’ll give you a quick funny story that happened at the Presb Home…one of the old ladies, Lois, waved me over and said, “Hey, I got some candy..” She was hiding something under her shirt and secretly rolled it out and it was an empty Hostess plastic wrap and she gave it to me. Haha, she’s so funny! I told her thank you and she gave me a big smile. πŸ™‚ She’s so cute..of love that place!

I hope you all have an amazing week!!! Much love!

Love, Sister Pange
